This morning’s BITA Kent Networking Breakfast was everything a great business event should be, energising, inspiring, and full of meaningful conversations.
It was fantastic to walk into the room and see so many familiar faces. There’s something special about reconnecting with people you’ve met along the journey, hearing what they’ve been working on, and seeing how their businesses are evolving. That sense of community is what makes BITA events stand out every time.

One of the highlights for me was speaking with Mary Eniolu about Strains’ leadership structure and accountability. We had a really insightful discussion around how strong governance and clarity in leadership roles can shape long-term success. Conversations like that, open, thoughtful, and forward-focused, are exactly why these mornings are so valuable.
As always, it was also great to hear from the legend that is Paul Whitnell. Paul spoke passionately about what networking truly means within the BITA community. His message was clear: if you want networking to work, you have to give it time, put in the effort, and genuinely build relationships. It’s not about quick wins, it’s about consistency, trust, and showing up. A powerful reminder for all of us in the room.
It was also exciting to learn more about BITA X and its focus on supporting the younger generation of businesspeople coming through the ranks. Creating space for emerging leaders to develop, connect, and grow within the network is such an important step forward. Investing in the next wave of entrepreneurs and professionals ensures the strength and sustainability of our business community for years to come.
Beyond the structured discussions, there were plenty of engaging conversations with new community members. It’s always refreshing to meet fresh faces, hear new ideas, and explore potential collaborations. The room had a real buzz about it, the kind that reminds you why in-person networking still matters.
And of course, we can’t forget the breakfast itself, a great spread enjoyed in even better company.
