On Friday, 28th November, NexGen Cyber attended the Tralee Chamber President’s Dinner at the beautiful Ballygarry House Hotel & Spa. This annual event is the highlight of the year for Tralee Chamber, and 2025 was no exception. A large crowd gathered to celebrate business, community, and collaboration.

Inspiring speeches

The afternoon featured Minister for Public Expenditure Jack Chambers as guest of honour. He praised Tralee as a national example of what strong collaboration and local leadership can achieve when supported by national investment.

“Tralee’s Chamber and business community have shown what is possible when ambition is shared and action is coordinated… Government relies on Chambers like Tralee’s to bring the voice of enterprise to national decision-making.”

Incoming President Sandra Rusk reinforced the Chamber’s mission:

“Tralee Chamber exists for one purpose: to unite businesses behind a shared vision for a vibrant, ambitious, and community-centred town… Our members are not just entrepreneurs they are the heartbeat of local life.”

The message was clear: retail and local enterprise are central to creating a thriving town centre, driving footfall, supporting jobs, and energising the community. Initiatives like Tidy Towns, Castle Street regeneration, and national recognition through awards show what’s possible when business and community work hand in hand.

Keynote speaker Luke Hanlon, MD of SuperValu and Centra, spoke about the role of business in community wellbeing:

“Community is at the heart of everything we do… Tralee is a prime example of a town where business and community work hand in hand.”

Celebrating Local Business Excellence

The dinner was also a fantastic opportunity to connect with some of the region’s leading businesses. Among those represented were Aspen Grove Solutions, Orbitus, who proudly opened their new state-of-the-art head office in Tralee earlier that day, Radio Kerry, Kerry FC, Reen Financial Services, O’Driscoll Property Services and Assess Ireland. Their presence highlighted the strength and diversity of Tralee’s business community and the shared commitment to driving innovation and growth across the region.

A Town with Plenty to Celebrate

Moreover, the evening wasn’t just about business, it was a celebration of Tralee’s achievements. across sport, education, and community. The Sam Maguire Cup was proudly on display, recognising Kerry’s sporting success and the pride it brings to the county. Guests also applauded the incredible achievement of Ciara, Saoirse, and Laoise Murphy, winners of the BT Young Scientist of the Year Award for their innovative project Aid Care Treat, showcasing the talent and creativity within Tralee’s education system.

Tralee recently won Best Large Urban Area in the 2025 Tidy Towns Awards. This reinforces its reputation for excellence and community spirit. From sporting triumphs to academic brilliance and urban renewal, Tralee truly has a lot to celebrate.

Honouring Leadership and Dedication

The Chamber presented a special award to outgoing President Stephen Stack in recognition of his dedication and commitment to Tralee Chamber. Over the past two years, Stephen’s hard work and vision have been instrumental in growing the Chamber and strengthening its role in the community.

The event was opened by Colette O’Connor, whose leadership and the tireless efforts of the entire Tralee Chamber team behind the scenes deserve huge applause. Their work ensured the evening was not only a success but a true reflection of the Chamber’s values and ambition.
